I feel that it is impossible to go more than a day in todays modern instant gratification society without hearing someone talk about how bad social media is. They often will say “I feel bad about my social media use”, or “Studies say that social media is bad for people”, or something along those lines. The issue is social media is not all bad. Many say they use it as a way to stay in contact with friends, and while I am positive this is true, when pressed on how much time they spend talking to their friends they reveal a harsh truth about their social media usage. Most of their time is spent scrolling an endless feed of 30 second videos, and only a fraction is spent communicating with their friends in any meaningful way beyond sending a few reels or liking their friends newest post or story. ...
